Round 1 Fremantle vs Melville: Nick Campo Memorial Round
1 Oct by Mark Herbert
All will be aware that the season kicks off this weekend(weather permitting) with the first round of the male season vs Fremantle.
Both Clubs have been in discussions over the last few months regarding round 1 and recognising the loss of Nick Campo during the off season.
Nick was a player at both Fremantle and Aquinas College and also a friend to many at our Club.
I can confirm the intent is for there to be a minutes silence before all games at both venues with all players to wear black armbands.
All are welcome back to Stevens Reserve after the game.
GIVEN THE RELATIVE SENSITIVITIES THE CLUB HAS AGREED TO COVER SALT LOGOS ON OUR PLAYING AND TRAINING KITS FOR THE DAY AT THE REQUEST OF THE CAMPO FAMILY.
IN THIS REGARD COULD I PLEASE ASK PLAYERS AND SUPPORTERS TO RESPECT THIS REQUEST AND TEAM MANAGERS OF JUNIOR TEAMS TO ENSURE THIS IS ACTIONED AND COMMUNICATED PLEASE?
I have today discussed this with representatives of Salt who fully understand our position.
I know this weekend will be emotional for many of you as we remember Nick.
I would ask that we get around each other and provide the support individuals need.
Should you wish to discuss or require support please reach out
Mark
