Hi All MCC Junior Families,

After a couple of very quick months, we’re back into preparing for the next cricket season.

To kick off the formal pre-season training program, we will be holding a combined Welcome Event for all 2023/24 juniors (Boys & Girls).

(Boys Merchandise available from 4:30pm-6:00pm before a 6:00pm start, New players to arrive early) (Girls Merchandise available from 7:30 onwards)

This will be our first welcome event for our boys’ and girls’ teams combined as the club looks to continue its “one club” philosophy.

In addition to setting out the pre-season timetable (which kicks off on Sunday morning 20 August at Elite Cricket in Cockburn, we will introduce our coaching and off-field support for each of the squads along with key MCC contacts, and spend a bit of time going through some general information and our MCC culture and expectations.

This is an important event for our club, as it enables new players and parents to be introduced to the club and their teams. As such, it would be fantastic if we had at least one parent per player present at the event.

At the welcome event, we will also have MCC merchandise stock for sale on arrival for new players and for existing players who have grown in the past year, misplaced, or left their stuff in their cricket bag at the end of the season. We will also endeavor to have some supporter merchandise (caps) available if in stock (noting that all new players to the club will be presented with their first MCC cap on the full club Season Launch, so no need for new players to purchase a cap). The Eftpos machine will also be on hand to collect any player fees and social membership payments.

It would be fantastic if parents could plan to pay fees on the evening.

There will not be any catering on the evening, however families are welcome to take advantage of the wonderful facilities at Tompkins and purchase food and drinks.
